The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
